With the beginning of Spring, we have now officially entered to the most exciting time of the year; hen party season!

If you are planning to do a Hen Do during spring or summer 2020, now it’s time to get organised. Luckily, Cambridge Hen Party is here to take over the stress and prepare everything for you, including food, drinks and some of the coolest activities Cambridge’s to offer.

Private Chauffeured Punting – Our 50-minute Private Chauffeured Punting Tours depart from the Jesus Green end of the river and can take place at any time during the day or evening. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks on board. During your 50 minute tour, you will cover the full length of the College Backs and extra blankets will be provided if it is a chilly day. Dancing Lessons – A 90-minute fun-filled session; choose any dance style you like! Our most popular are Salsa, Grease and Dirty Dancing. Chocolate making – 90 minutes of delicious heaven for any chocoholic hens! Life Drawing, Private Chauffeured Punting and a 3 Course Meal – Start your Hen Party in Cambridge with a 50 minute private chauffeured punt tour. There is plenty of time for the bride to be to have a go at punting herself under the supervision of your charming chauffeur. Next, we have a one hour life drawing class. Your tutor will lead you through the session including drawing games and techniques to help you produce masterpieces of your nude male model. Also included in this package is a 3-course meal. Private Chauffeured Punting, Express Cocktail Making and Latin Meal – Start your Hen Party in Cambridge with a 50 minute private chauffeured punt tour. There is plenty of time for the bride to be to have a go at punting herself under the supervision of your charming chauffeur. This is followed by an express cocktail making class lasting one hour and including 4 drinks. Each group member will receive a drink on arrival, you will then make an additional 2 cocktail during the class and finish with a yummy shot before moving on to your 2-course Latin style meal from a set menu. Hen Party Rules

Although Hen Parties are supposed to be fun, there are many things that can go wrong during the last day and night of the Bride’s freedom (especially, if there is alcohol involved).

Hence, it’s worth following the 5 Golden Rules of Hen Parties, which are the following:

1. Everything for the Bride

It is HER big day, so everything should go as she wishes (apart from some crazy, alcohol-influenced ideas).

2. Don’t Start Drinking too early

It is important to be aware of your limits. Remember, you’d rather be on the dancefloor at 10pm instead of falling asleep with your head inside of the club’s toilet.

3. Play Games

Instead of starting your day with shots, play games or do some other useful activities. Playing Scavenger Hunt or taking part in a Dance Class or a Life Drawing Session is a perfect start of your day, for example.

4. Don’t forget to eat

It’s very important to have a proper meal before the evening craze. We do offer delicious meal options in some of our packages. Anyways, a hen do is never about counting calories…

5. Stick together

The Team Bride should ensure that they never leave anyone (especially the drunken Bride) alone. Girls’ Night Rules no. 1: you arrive together, you leave together!

Bye Bye, 2019!

Time flies… I remember writing about the ‘Bridal Bucket List for 2019′ like it was yesterday, and now the start of the new year is just around the corner. Hence why I collected 5 New Year’s resolutions every Bride in 2020 should promise themselves & follow before the Big Day. Ladies, here it comes…

1. Enjoy the magic of being engaged

Being engaged is probably the best part of your relationship. No need to guess about your partner’s intentions anymore – you both know that you want each other for life, and this feeling is beautiful, honest and precious.

2. Ask your friends and family to plan your Hen Do

After all, what are besties for? No matter what sort of party they surprise you with, don’t forget that they did it for you with all their love. (P.S. at Cambridge Hen Party, we offer great activities as well as packages to make the last day & night of your freedom amazing. 😉 )

3. Don’t be too hard on yourself

Some brides decide to live according to strict rules before their wedding; they start crazy diets, stress too much to make sure everything is gonna be perfect, and so on. However, ladies, let’s not forget the golden rule: the wedding preparations, the ceremony & the party is organised most importantly for you and your husband-to-be, i. e. you guys should enjoy every minute of it. <3

4. Keep calm & be patient

Some plans might not go they way you imagined… sometimes it causes difficulties to find the most delicious cake or choose the colour of the bridesmaids’ dress. Come on, these are teeny-tiny things! Always look at the bright side of things; at least, you don’t need to look for your future hubby anymore. 😉

5. Be the happiest bride on your Big Day

Winter Hen Party Ideas

Although it’s more popular for brides to celebrate their last night of freedom in summer, some decide to organise their party during the cold season. Don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, winter parties can be just as entertaining as the ones organised during the summer. We do offer a range of activities suitable for Winter Hens!

Express cocktail making with a Latin Meal
A fun one-hour-long cocktail making session including four cocktails per person, followed by a delicious 2 or 3 course Latin meal. Extra drinks can be ordered and paid for on the night.

Fascinator Making
The ideal crafty activity for your hen. Express your creativity and make something gorgeous you can wear to the wedding. During your two hour workshop, your teacher will show you how to create a unique fascinator sewing together the provided materials while expressing your individual style.

Pizza Making
This fun-filled Hen activity offers you a little trip to Italy… Each member of the party will make their own delicious pizza in one of Cambridge’s Best Pizzerias. Your cooking session will be held by a charming chef, so you will learn from the best! Free-flowing prosecco (or Mocktails or Draught Menabrea) included through the pizza making and meal.

It’s November – Time to think about your Hen Do!

The beginning of November means the beginning of winter thoughts; Christmas, New Year and plans for next summer. This time of the year, the most organised hens start to think about their Hen Do, as hen party season is only five months away. It’s always better to plan your party earlier than late… so let us give you some ideas for next spring & summer!

1. Punting
Our luxurious 50-minute Private Chauffeured Punting Tours depart from La Mimosa Landing Stage, just near Jesus Green. Punting can take place at any time during the day or evening. You are more than welcome to bring your own food and drinks on board (including alcohol, of course). During your 50 minute tour, you will discover the full length of the College Backs. 5. Life Drawing
A one hour life drawing class with a (naked) male model and tutor. All materials are provided and a licensed bar is on hand for you to purchase a few drinks to help your creative streak flow!

Halloween Zombie Bride Makeup Tutorials

Zombie Bridal costumes are timeless at Halloween, especially between those lucky ladies who are about to get married shortly. Getting your Halloween outfit ready should not cause any trouble; a white dress and a veil will always do, probably decorated with some fake blood. However, when it comes to the Zombie Bride Glam, there are too many ways to express your creativity.

1. The Corpse Bride

This look is definitely for the make-up pros out there. It is fantastic to watch how someone is capable of such a transformation into a cartoon character.

2. Runaway Bride

This look is easier and can be done by anyone who is patient and artistic enough. You can wear it with our without contacts, but we do think that any unusual coloured lenses would look amazing with this make-up.

3.The Bride of Chucky

Chucky and his wife, Tiffany have been popular since the 1990s, and people choosing to dress like them simply can’t go wrong. This make-up is less extreme; no fake blood, no lenses, no full face painted and powdered to whiteness. In fact, the ‘Bride of Chucky’ look is kind of pretty!

4. Glam Zombie Bride

A little bit of Zombie Bride Glam – who said zombies can’t be attractive? This make-up is so lifelike and creepy, but at the same time, we have to admit that this Bride looks fantastic.

5. Ghostly Bride

We do love the all-white look and do definitely recommend wearing azure or turquoise lenses to complete it. The fake blood around and inside the mouth just lifts this make-up to a higher level.

Everything you need to know about our Smoking Cuban Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Teas have always been popular choices for Hen Parties. You know, in the circle of the ‘less-wild-type-of hens’, or for those timings of the day when it’s simply too early to get drunk. However, for a Hen Do, it’s always exciting to try something new; something more than just a traditional Afternoon Tea.

Hence why we added the Smoking Cuban Afternoon Tea to our list! It is definitely something to look forward to if you like a little Brazilian twist in your food and Rum Ice Tea.

What does the Afternoon Tea consist of?

Most hens like to go clubbing for the biggest ladies’ night everyone’s gonna talk about, even if they haven’t been dancing all night long for years. Lola Lo
